Who We Are

CORAL for Environmental & Energy Services (CORALCEES) was established in 2004 as an independent consultancy delivering environmental services to the oil, gas, and industrial sectors in Yemen. The company was founded on a simple operating principle: that Yemen requires technical advisory work executed to international standards by professionals with deep field experience in the country.

In its early years, CORALCEES focused on environmental impact assessment, social baseline surveys, and stakeholder engagement for oil and gas exploration and development across Yemen. As the company's reputation grew, so did the breadth of its work extending into environmental regulatory advisory, ecological surveys, and environmental and social management planning for industrial clients and government bodies.

In 2012, CORALCEES formally expanded its mandate to incorporate energy advisory alongside its established environmental practice. This was a deliberate strategic step that recognized the increasing convergence between environmental compliance, energy systems performance, and project economics. Since that expansion, CORALCEES has delivered energy efficiency reviews, renewable energy feasibility studies, carbon footprint and greenhouse gas assessments, and technical energy advisory working across both environmental and energy lines as a single integrated technical partner to clients operating in Yemen.

Since 2012, CORALCEES has further developed capabilities in environmental compliance advisory, Environmental Management System (EMS) development, sustainability advisory, climate risk assessments, climate vulnerability studies, strategic environmental advisory, and climate finance advisory including GCF, GEF and IKI compliant funding proposal preparation. CORALCEES exists to provide independent, technically rigorous environmental and energy consultancy in Yemen. Our work satisfies regulatory and lender requirements for oil and gas operators, industrial manufacturers, and international development sector clients requiring ESIA, EIA, baseline surveys, and energy advisory in Yemen. We provide defensible technical evidence for investment and operational decisions across environmental compliance, renewable energy, and energy efficiency disciplines including environmental compliance, EMS development, sustainability advisory, climate risk and vulnerability assessments, and climate finance advisory.

HOW WE WORK

CORALCEES draws on a permanent core team of qualified Yemeni environmental and energy professionals, supplemented by specialist associates engaged on a project basis. Our methodology follows established international practice including the environmental and social performance standards of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) where required by lenders or clients. Reports and studies are prepared in formats accepted by international lenders, donor agencies, and host country regulators including the Yemeni Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). We accept assignments only where we have, or can mobilise, the technical competence to deliver them to a standard we are prepared to defend.

CORALCEES is headquartered in Taiz, Yemen, with operational reach across the country. Our project portfolio covers environmental consultancy, ESIA, baseline survey, and energy advisory assignments across the governorates of Yemen including remote and operationally challenging field environments.

CORALCEES serves international oil & gas operators, government bodies, industrial manufacturers, and international development organizations requiring environmental, technical and energy consultancy services in Yemen. Selected advisory and feasibility assignments have also been delivered for clients beyond Yemen.
