2018

Project Title: Climate Finance Advisory and GCF-Compliant Technical Report — Renewable Energy Transition and Carbon Emission Reduction, Al-Hudaydah Water Sector, Yemen

Brief Project Description:     CORALCEES was engaged to deliver a sequential programme of technical advisory services culminating in a GCF-compliant technical report. The programme comprised a field baseline assessment and stakeholder consultation (March 2018), a solar energy feasibility and GHG emission reduction assessment (July 2018), and the preparation of comprehensive GCF-compliant technical documentation consolidating all findings (January 2019). The work encompassed climate risk analysis, techno-commercial feasibility assessment for transition to solar power, carbon footprint estimation, greenhouse gas assessment, and preparation of full technical documentation meeting Green Climate Fund (GCF) requirements. CORALCEES successfully delivered all required technical documentation to international standard. The broader GCF application process could not be progressed further at the country level due to institutional constraints arising from Yemen's ongoing conflict.

Project Title: Retained Environmental Legal Compliance and Sustainability Advisory — Confidential Industrial Group, Yemen

Project Description Brief:        Retained environmental compliance and sustainability advisory to a major Yemeni industrial group operating multiple manufacturing facilities across Yemen. Services delivered included assessment of applicable national environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, identification of compliance obligations, Environmental Management System (EMS) development, HSE management system development, environmental legal compliance desktop studies, due diligence audits, environmental impact assessment support, and engagement with national and local environmental regulatory authorities. Strategic environmental advisory was provided to corporate management on sustainability obligations, regulatory requirements, and environmental management best practice.

Project Title: EIA Requirements for Petroleum Projects — Applicable Environmental Regulations and Requirements in Yemen

Project Description Brief: Research, analysis, and documentation of all applicable national environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks governing petroleum project development in Yemen, including Environmental Protection Law No. 26 (1995), Prime Minister's Resolution 148 (2000), EIA procedures and licensing requirements, and applicable international conventions. The assignment was delivered as a formal advisory report to an Oil & Gas Production Block Operator in Hadramout Governorate, Yemen, providing the regulatory intelligence required to understand environmental compliance obligations and Yemeni government review and approval procedures for major industrial projects.

Project Title: Hazardous Waste Disposal and Solid Waste Management in Yemen — Applicable Environmental Requirements

Project Description Brief: Research, analysis, and documentation of all applicable national regulatory requirements for hazardous waste disposal and solid waste management in Yemen, covering the Environmental Protection Law, Prime Minister's Resolution 148, Basel Convention obligations, and applicable environmental standards. Delivered as a formal advisory report to an Oil & Gas Production Block Operator in Hadramout Governorate, Yemen, providing the regulatory framework assessment required to understand waste management compliance obligations under Yemeni law.
